2012Columbia Union Conference Votes Ordination without Regard to Gender
Today, by a vote of 209 to 51 with 9 abstentions the Columbia Union Conference in a special constituency session took the following action: “That the Columbia Union Conference authorize ordination to the gospel ministry without regard to gender.” This session was significant not only for its decisive vote in favor of ordination without regard to gender but also for several very comprehensive, well researched, and effective presentations by members of the CUCon ad hoc committee that powerfully countered every element of the thinly argued appeal by Elder Ted Wilson and policy interpretation by Elder Lowell Cooper, General Conference President and Vice President respectively.
